Owner

Meredith Shearer is a graduate of Georgia State University (B.A., cum laude, 1989; J.D., 1992) and was admitted to the Georgia State Bar in 1992. Since graduating law school, she has worked exclusively in the area of residential real estate, and in January 2000, formed Meredith Shearer & Associates, LLC.

She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Real Property Section, Georgia Real Estate Closing Attorneys Association (Secretary, 2004-2012; Director, 2003), Women’s Council of Realtors (Treasurer, 2002) (Affiliate Member of the Year Award, 2010), Cobb Association of Realtors (Ambassador, 2004-2008) (Affiliate Member of the Year Award, 2005).

She has authored articles for several magazines and newspapers on topics related to residential real estate. She has been an instructor for Prudential Georgia Realty Continuing Education Class on Contracts 2003-2004. She has been a presenter at many continuing legal education seminars, including: Georgia State University Division of Continuing Education, Real Estate Closings for New Lawyers, October 1997; Institute of Continuing Legal Education, Residential Real Estate Practice in 1995, 2008 and 2009; and Real Property Law Institute in 2010.

She currently resides in Roswell, Georgia with her daughter and son.


Phillip Henry, Esq.

Phillip Henry

Phillip graduated from the University of Georgia in 1998 with B.A. in English and was a member of the Dean’s List. After Graduation, he volunteered with Americorps in which he taught elementary school in Chattanooga, Tennessee and built houses for Habitat for Humanity-Greater Miami, Florida.

In 2003, Phillip received his J.D. from the University of Memphis. At Memphis, he was awarded the Cali award for his participation in the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic at Memphis Area Legal Services. Phillip has been admitted to the State Bar of Georgia since 2004. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Real Property Law Section. He is an affiliate member with the DeKalb Association of Realtors, DeKalb Women’s Council of Realtors and Old Fourth Ward Business Association.

Phillip enjoys travelling, scuba diving, white water sports, volunteering with Habitat For Humanity, volunteering with Meals on Wheels and grilling on his Big Green Egg.


Marianne T. Shaver 

Marianne T. Shaver

Marianne T. Shaver is the managing attorney for the Suwanee office. She received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in 1991. While a Lehigh, Marianne was a Teaching Assistant for the Business Law Professor and a Drill Instructor for the Beginning Latin course. She returned home to Atlanta’s Emory University to earn her Juris Doctorate degree in 1994. Marianne was involved in the Legal Association of Women Students at Emory and organized the club’s Res Judicata 5K which benefited a local AIDS foundation.

Marianne has been practicing residential and commercial real estate law since 1996. She is a frequent speaker for ICLE seminars for Georgia attorneys and has presented numerous seminars to agents regarding contracts, titles and general closing practice.

Marianne enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt, and running around to events with their two children, Matthew and Sarah. When they have a free moment, she loves exploring Georgia’s hiking trails and waterfalls or reading historical fiction novels.


Gillen Joachim 

Gillen Joachim

Gillen Joachim is the managing attorney for our Kennesaw office. He received his B.A. in English from The University of Mississippi in 1995 and his J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1999. While in college, Gillen was a member of the English Honors Society, the Society of Physics Students and the Ole Miss Drama and Theater Group. He served one year as the President of the Society of Physics Students. Gillen also volunteered with North Mississippi Habitat for Humanity and the Oxford Mississippi Rape Crisis Center. While in Law School, Gillen volunteered at the Athens Clark-County Public Defender’s office and clerked for the Cobb County District Attorney’s office.

Gillen’s initial practice was in the areas of immigration and civil litigation. After a few years in those areas, Gillen transitioned into transactional law and has been handling residential and commercial real estate transactions since 2002. He enjoys the challenges of complex title issues as well as working with people buying and selling their homes and the agents and lenders who help them to do so.

Gillen lives in Marietta with his wife, Lauren, and their three children. Most of his free time is spent watching his sons play baseball and coaching his daughter’s soccer team.


Vito Polera 

Scott Mills

Scott G. Mills is a graduate of the University of Georgia (B.B.A., Finance, 1993) and the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University (J.D., 1996). Scott was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1996 and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1998. Scott began practicing law in commercial and residential real estate in 1996 and has experience in estate planning and business formations. Scott is a member of the Real Property Section of State Bar of Georgia.

Scott lives in Alpharetta, Georgia with his best friend and wife, Jennifer and his two daughters, Emma Claire & Jordi who both attend Milton High School and play lacrosse. Scott’s son, Ryan, is a junior at the University of Alabama where he is studying Aerospace Engineering.

Scott and his family attend North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, Georgia where his entire family has served in volunteer roles for several years. Most of Scott’s free time (and money) is spent travelling with his daughters to various lacrosse tournaments all over the United States. Scott is an avid sports fan and is a Dawg fan for life!


Cindy Fraser King 

Cindy Fraser King

Cindy joined the MSA in January 2021 after 10 years of private practice. She attended Georgia State University to pursue her undergraduate studies, graduating with Magna Cum Laude in 2002. After undergrad, Cindy remained at Georgia State to secure her Law degree. She was admitted to the Georgia bar in 2006 and has been working in the field of Real Estate Law and Estate Planning ever since. She works in the Suwanee office location, focusing her practice on real estate law.

Faith and family are most important to Cindy. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending family time with her husband Daniel and children. Her hobbies include, traveling, motorcycle riding, reading, sewing, watching movies and spending time at the beach.


M. Scott Gazlay 

M. Scott Gazlay

Scott joined Meredith Shearer & Associates, LLC in 2022 to expand the firm’s footprint into the Braselton area. While he was born in LaPlace, Louisiana, he considers Atlanta home. He moved to Dunwoody in 1992 and graduated from Dunwoody High School. His parents moved to the Braselton area in 2007, and he moved up in 2013 after living in the city for a few years.

Scott is a graduate of the University of Georgia (Dual B.B.A. in Finance and Risk Management, 2008) and John Marshall Law School (J.D., 2010) After graduating a semester early from law school, he was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2011. He has focused his whole legal career on residential real estate. He is currently a member of the Real Property Section of the State Bar of Georgia.

Scott currently resides in Flowery Branch, Georgia with his wife, kids and dogs. In his free time, he enjoys being outside, boating on Lake Lanier, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, cooking, traveling and being with his family.


Bob G. Pope

Bob was born and raised in Cobb County before receiving his undergraduate degree from Georgia State University (B.B.A. in Accounting) and his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law. Go Dawgs! After beginning his career practicing tax and corporate law, Bob found his true calling in real estate and has been closing residential and commercial real estate transactions ever since.

Bob lives in Acworth with two fur babies, Riley and Lilah, pups who are constantly at his feet if not in his lap (or trying to get there). In addition, Bob has four beautiful daughters, all of whom thankfully live in the metro area, one precious granddaughter (yes I can show you some pictures) with another granddaughter on the way in January, 2023. Alan C. Pope High School is named after Bob’s brother, who was the first boys basketball and cross country coach of Walton High School. Although a sports nut in general, Bob is a HUGE Braves and Bulldogs fan.


Amanda L. Campbell

Amanda L. Campbell is a proud “military brat” traveling around the world with her family, until settling in Georgia over 30 years ago. She received her JD degree from Woodrow Wilson Law School, admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1994. Her first experience with Real Estate was as a Title Examiner while in Law School and continued this passion as a Real Estate Closing Attorney upon passing the Georgia Bar.

She is married to Mark Young (also a Real Estate Attorney), they live in East Cobb with their very spoiled two cats and a Pappion.  (Mark and Amanda are Die Hard Georgia fans)

Memberships include The Georgia Bar Real Estate Section, Family Law and Elder Law; Cobb County Bar Association Real Estate Section and Family Law Section; Georgia Women’s Lawyers Association; Registered Neutral with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution.

Other than her passion for Real Estate she enjoys photography, traveling and designing Pearl Jewelry (with part of the proceeds going to No Kill Animal Shelters and Children’s Charities).

Traci Bridges

Closer

Traci began her career in the Real Estate Industry in 2002, working for ReMax Professionals as a licensed Sales Associate. She then joined Advantage Mortgage Partners – a joint venture with Wells Fargo, and worked for a short time as a Junior Loan Officer. For the past fifteen years Traci has worked as a Closer, and joined Meredith Shearer and Associates in 2016.


Renee Ferrara

Renee began her career as a Real Estate paralegal in 1998 and has worked with Marianne Shaver since 2001. She enjoys spending time with her granddaughter.


Stacey Parker

Paralegal

Stacey joined the MSA team in 2019.

She is an east Cobb native that gets the privilege of working a mile from where she grew up. Stacey has been in the real estate profession since she was a teenager, starting out specializing in the REO industry and spending a good deal of her career at Fannie Mae. She says she has been fortunate to work for attorneys that have had a diversified practice thus giving her the opportunity to work on just about every type of closing you can imagine. Stacey says "The amazing aspect about real estate are the advances in technology, loan programs and the ever-changing market. Those aspects allow you to continuously learn new things every day which is very exciting."


Tish Kearney

Closer

Tish has worked in the real estate industry as a paralegal & closer for several years. I work with Atlanta Communities, Palmer House Properties, eXp Realty, as well as many other brokers, agents, lenders to prepare all the closing documentation for signing at the actual closing. I am a Cobb County native, born and raised. I have been in the relocation, real estate, and mortgage industry in one form or another since 1983.

I have two adult children and one grandson who is a senior in high school. I enjoy spending time with my family, relaxing with a good book, working around my home and in the yard.


Claudine Fletcher

Closing Paralegal

Claudine joined our firm in 2005 when she relocated to the Atlanta area from New Jersey. In New Jersey she worked as a paralegal in a real estate firm for several years. Claudine will impress you with her flawless customer service and expertise in closing and post closing services. Claudine has been a huge asset to our firm.


Ansley Shaver

Pre-Closer, Office Manager

Ansley started working in real estate law in 2003 and joined the MSA team in 2016. She is Mercer graduate with a degree in Business Administration. Ansley is an integral part of our team and is known to go the extra mile to ensure a smooth closing. When not in the office, she can be found at the beach or the mountains. Ansley also enjoys the local music scene!


Heather Gailey

Closer

Heather, an Atlanta native, joined the firm in December, 2019. She has 20+ years’ experience working as a real estate paralegal, and is very knowledgeable. Heather enjoys working closely with her colleagues and clients to provide excellent customer service throughout the entire closing process. Outside of work, Heather lives with her mate of 25 years, Roy, sharing their love of boating, working on renovations around the house and spending time outdoors.


Madelyne Hartmann

Madelyne joined MSA in 2021 as a Post-Closer and Receptionist. She previously worked in North Georgia as a Pre-Closer. She enjoys spending time with family and friends.


Kennedy Lee

Receptionist & Post-Closer

Kennedy graduated from the University of North Georgia in May of 2022. She enjoys spending her free time hanging out with friends, family, and her fur baby “Gabbana”. She likes to watch her favorite shows and go to the park. Kennedy is an avid reader with her favorite genre being fantasy and she is happy to be a part of such a great team.


Patti Cullen

Closer

Patti Cullen is a graduate of Indiana University with a degree in Office Management. She was introduced to the real estate world in 2002 when she relocated to Georgia to marry her husband, Tom, a loan officer who figured she would enjoy it. Guess he was right because she’s still at it! She joined MSA in 2020 and works part time in the Suwanee office, filling in where needed in closing and pre-closing.


Tayler Hughes

Paralegal

Tayler is a Colorado native who joined MSA in 2022 as a pre-Closer. She is a graduate of the University of South Alabama and completed her paralegal certification through the University of Georgia. In her free time, Tayler enjoys golfing, volunteering as an alumna of Alpha Gamma Delta, and taking care of her three Dobermans.


Jackie Weiss

Exec. Assistant & Human Resources

Jackie joined MSA in 2022 as the Executive Assistant and Human Resources Generalist. She is also the administrative assistant for GRECAA, Georgia Real Estate Closing Attorneys Association. Jackie is a retired teacher of 30 years with 13 years of Customer Service and Human Resources experience. She enjoys working with others, is happily married with three young adult children, and an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.
